Happy Hump Day everyone. How are you doing? I am doing great today, finally.

I kicked butt at the gym today, just wanted to start off with something positive! I did 2.9 miles and some strength training, I burned 500 calories in that hour of working out. Go me! I went and shovelled snow for about 20 minutes and burned over 100 calories. Wow!

This afternoon I did a little chocolate making. I made some peanut butter cups, with dark chocolate and natural PB. I also made ones with sweetened coconut in them.

Suppers agenda, sort of Italian feel, since yesterday was Indian:

Spaghetti Squash and fried Tofu. I have never really eaten tofu before and the one and only time I did it wasn’t very enjoyable, but I didn’t cook it up or add any flavours to it so that doesn’t count as much of an experience.

Spaghetti squash was pretty basic, topped with some tomato sauce and I added spices like oregano, basil and garlic, and I also added some mushrooms.

The tofu was fried with oil, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper. It was very tasty, didn’t seem like tofu at all.

First picture is just before cooking it, all spiced up. Second picture is cooked and ready for eatin’.

During the preparation of supper I burnt myself with the oil I was cooking the tofu in, I ran it under cold water and then I am still keeping a cool wet cloth on it, but it still hurts really bad.

So tonight we whipped up some good ol’ fashioned indian food. Supper consisted of garlic Naan Bread and Roasted sweet potatoes spiced with oil, curry, cumin, salt, pepper and paprika. It was AH-mazing.

It was first time trying Naan bread, and I was super impressed with how soft it is and has just the right amount of flavour in it.

I definitely think I will be incorporating more indian food, its healthy, vegan/vegetarian and full of flavour and spice!

I also did my at home Week 3 of Winter Shape Up workout, see Winter Shape Up 2010 for all the details.

I’m just waiting for The Biggest Loser to come on tonight, so that’s all I have planned.

What is your favourite ethnic food?

Still today I am feeling quite miserable, had a bad sleep last night AGAIN due to pain and discomfort. On and off nausea today. Hopefully it will all go away soon.

Week 3 of Winter Shape Up came out today and I wasn’t too thrilled with it, sorry! So I just created something on my own, simple and easy to do at home since I haven’t been feeling much like leaving the house. All I need is the chin up bar and resistance bands. This way even if I don’t leave the house, I can still get in a good weight workout.

It’s been snowing here, again! Took long enough for it to actually start coming down, soon enough it will be Spring again and I will be jumping for joy. I can’t wait to start running outside.

Here’s the aftermath of our snow storm last weekend:

Most streets are cleaned, thank goodness! But since it’s been snowing again, its getting pretty messy out there again,  but I doubt it will be quite like the storm we just had.

On to the next thing, I borrowed some of my mom’s chocolate moulds, I want to experiment with making some regular chocolate, vegan chocolates and raw chocolates. I am so excited to do those and see how they turn out. Maybe this week I will start whippin’ up some fancy treats. My dad told me I have to bring samples out, because he’s the "Official Taste Tester". So I’ll be sure to make some of his favourites, my dad is spoiled!

Well until next time! Have a good night.

I am excited about making Raw Juices with my juicer and using my new book the big book of juices. There are some good detox juices and smoothies in there that I will be trying. I want to start to practice yoga with my beginners yoga DVD.

What I want to do to get Healthy:

Do my best to eat High Raw and Vegan, and if I don’t I will not beat myself up over it.

One juice a day.

One smoothie a day.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Here is one day of me focusing on eating right, this is what I want to obtain in the long run and do on a regular basis. But remember it takes time, and it definitely helps if you get as much support as possible. If everyone around you in not eating healthy and not supporting you of your choices, things will be much more difficult. So it’s best to let people know what your plan is, and hopefully they will join in or at least make an effort to help you out in your journey.

Breakfast: Capple Kiwi juice made in the juicer (from the big book of juices), which consisted of 3 carrots, 1 apple and 2 kiwis.

Eating raw until supper was easy and I didn’t feel the need to snack a lot today, my stomach seemed satisfied with what I ate. I have had a migraine most of the evening. My body is getting used to eating right and it is just having a little bit of withdrawal I think. Christmas sabotaged my eating habits and my body needs a little time to adjust.

Best of luck in your journey!
