So disappointed, The Biggest Loser isn’t on tonight, I almost cried. I look forward to Tuesday nights with the gang. And it’s not on again until March 2nd. I think I just might cry, whatever will I do!

WORKOUT – 2 miles and arms & back

Let’s to do a recap of this long weekend:

Monday’s a  holiday, Family Day, it’s only a holiday in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and PEI. As well as a couple of the states, etc. Basically, if you had Monday off, then you know what it is.

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver have been on, and surprisingly we’ve been watching it a fair amount. We won a Gold Medal, that’s pretty cool. Canada Rocks!

Valentines was celebrated on Saturday, I was taken out for a lovely supper at my favourite place, Red Lobster, where I stuffed my face with crab legs. I did not hold back. As well as I was taken out for Lunch to an awesome place downtown that I have never heard of. It was called Souleio. We dined on Steelhead Panini’s, they had a citrus cream cheese and spinach. It was AH-mazing.

This weekend was pretty chillen. It was a movie renting weekend. Such movies as, The Hurt Locker, Zombieland and Hunger.

My Secret Bloggie Valentine, Jocelyn got my package. It included postcards of my amazing city! And Saskatoon Berry Tea. Hope you enjoy!

I received a message from my Secret Bloggie Valentine, Susan, where I was instructed to go to Brainsport and "get myself something warm". But unfortunately they were closed today for the holiday, so I am eagerly waiting to go tomorrow!

I got in a workout today, did 2 miles on the Cross trainer and did my Arms and Back strength training. It was super busy at the gym today since a lot of people had the day off.

So I think that will it for now, I don’t need to babble on for hours.

Are you watching the Winter Olympics?

WORKOUT – 1.84 miles and legs

I am back to tracking calories again, not religiously, but I want to keep an eye on how much I am eating, since my weigh in and measurements yesterday, obviously I am doing something VERY wrong. So it is time to take more action. Usually I use a program to track, but since I don’t want to obsess too much, I am doing it the old school way, writing it down on paper. It might not be exact, but it gives me a good idea of where I am at for the day.

Here’s what I ate today:

Breakfast – 1 apple and 2 slices 7-grain toast with light butter

Lunch (post workout) – large caesar salad with hemp seeds

Snack – 1 navel orange and 1 apple

Supper – Vegetarian Bean Chili with cheese

Snack  – Small Oreo Cheesequake blizzard from Dairy Queen

I picked up something new and exciting today. It’s an Organic Sprout Growing Kit, I’ll be able to grow my own spouts inside, even in the winter, and since I can’t really have a garden, super pumped. Definitely will be more on that once I get it going growing!

What’s there to say about today? Not much! Gym workout was good,  did 2.16 miles and strength training doing arms and back, upped my weight from 16lbs to 20lbs. That’s pretty exciting. And on a sadder note, I weighed in and did measurements and compared from 3 months ago, and I gained 10lbs and gained 0.5 inches on each spot. Ick! That was kind of a reality check to seriously get my butt moving into gear, especially since summer is going to come so quickly.

I have an upcoming Zumba workshop in just over 2 weeks, so I am thinking that doing that might be the swift kick in the rear to get me moving again.

As for supper tonight, we made some fish with a lemon butter dill sauce (YUMMY) and a caesar salad on the side. I was craving the salad so bad, the fish was a nice touch.

I am just getting ready for bed now, pretty tired, still fighting whatever sickness that is trying to take over my body.

Do you go to a fitness class or are you thinking of joining one? Which one?

WORKOUT –  4 miles on treadmill – 60 minutes

I attempted my skills today for my 6.2 mile race, I fell short, only 4 miles before I had to call it quits. But for me I was impressed, plus I ran most of it which is almost impossible for me. I guess if I keep this up, I’ll be able to do the 6.2 in no time.

Pre-workout food was an apple and a banana. Post-workout fuel was 3 eggs scrambled.

And here’s another tribute to the month of LOVE! With only 6 days left.

So first off, not sure what kind of gift this would be! But I kind of thought it was clever, when the light is red it’s hot water, and when it’s blue it’s cold water. Just in case your real "smart" I guess. Not such a good gift if you’re color blind!

All I have to say is, WTF!?

I bet you don’t know what that is? Maybe it’s my new mask because I’m a super hero. Wait, no I’m not. It’s actually an ‘Eye massager’,  Umm ok then!

This is a good product because its Green, use warm or cold. But WHY is it a dog laying on your face? Why couldn’t they just make it something that wasn’t an animal, how about a rectangular shape

That’s it for now. Not even sure what to say after those inventions.

I am super psyched about tonight’s supper, I wish it was supper time already! The agenda is homemade pizza’s on Whole Wheat Naan bread, with red, yellow and green peppers, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese.

But first before supper can happen I had to do my cardio and abs sesh. Just over an hour of a workout. I did 2.76 miles total and a series of ab exercises. Felt great! I definitely got my sweat on.

Stay tuned for pictures from tonight’s awesome supper!

Happy Hump Day everyone. How are you doing? I am doing great today, finally.

I kicked butt at the gym today, just wanted to start off with something positive! I did 2.9 miles and some strength training, I burned 500 calories in that hour of working out. Go me! I went and shovelled snow for about 20 minutes and burned over 100 calories. Wow!

This afternoon I did a little chocolate making. I made some peanut butter cups, with dark chocolate and natural PB. I also made ones with sweetened coconut in them.

Suppers agenda, sort of Italian feel, since yesterday was Indian:

Spaghetti Squash and fried Tofu. I have never really eaten tofu before and the one and only time I did it wasn’t very enjoyable, but I didn’t cook it up or add any flavours to it so that doesn’t count as much of an experience.

Spaghetti squash was pretty basic, topped with some tomato sauce and I added spices like oregano, basil and garlic, and I also added some mushrooms.

The tofu was fried with oil, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper. It was very tasty, didn’t seem like tofu at all.

First picture is just before cooking it, all spiced up. Second picture is cooked and ready for eatin’.

During the preparation of supper I burnt myself with the oil I was cooking the tofu in, I ran it under cold water and then I am still keeping a cool wet cloth on it, but it still hurts really bad.

So tonight we whipped up some good ol’ fashioned indian food. Supper consisted of garlic Naan Bread and Roasted sweet potatoes spiced with oil, curry, cumin, salt, pepper and paprika. It was AH-mazing.

It was first time trying Naan bread, and I was super impressed with how soft it is and has just the right amount of flavour in it.

I definitely think I will be incorporating more indian food, its healthy, vegan/vegetarian and full of flavour and spice!

I also did my at home Week 3 of Winter Shape Up workout, see Winter Shape Up 2010 for all the details.

I’m just waiting for The Biggest Loser to come on tonight, so that’s all I have planned.

What is your favourite ethnic food?

Still today I am feeling quite miserable, had a bad sleep last night AGAIN due to pain and discomfort. On and off nausea today. Hopefully it will all go away soon.

Week 3 of Winter Shape Up came out today and I wasn’t too thrilled with it, sorry! So I just created something on my own, simple and easy to do at home since I haven’t been feeling much like leaving the house. All I need is the chin up bar and resistance bands. This way even if I don’t leave the house, I can still get in a good weight workout.

It’s been snowing here, again! Took long enough for it to actually start coming down, soon enough it will be Spring again and I will be jumping for joy. I can’t wait to start running outside.

Here’s the aftermath of our snow storm last weekend:

Snow storm

Most streets are cleaned, thank goodness! But since it’s been snowing again, its getting pretty messy out there again,  but I doubt it will be quite like the storm we just had.

On to the next thing, I borrowed some of my mom’s chocolate moulds, I want to experiment with making some regular chocolate, vegan chocolates and raw chocolates. I am so excited to do those and see how they turn out. Maybe this week I will start whippin’ up some fancy treats. My dad told me I have to bring samples out, because he’s the "Official Taste Tester". So I’ll be sure to make some of his favourites, my dad is spoiled!

Well until next time! Have a good night.

Sorry for not posting anything for awhile! I’ll catch you up on EVERYTHING!

Starting Friday overnight it began snowing, Saturday was pretty blizzardy and getting pretty bad, we went out and got some food and a movie (The Invention of Lying; I’ll get into that in a minute). When we woke up Sunday morning it was like we were in the North Pole there was so much snow. We got a total of 27cm/10.6 inches of snow. So needless to say we were not able to leave our parking lot. We had to return the movie, luckily we live fairly close to the video store and we just walked there. We had to push one car out on our way. I did like at least 2 hours of shovelling, part of that was playing and building a fort out back! Finally at about 9:30pm Sunday night we were able to leave, the parking lot had been semi-cleaned, just so people were able to get to work in the morning. Full parking lot clean up was scheduled for Tuesday. So Monday rolled around and the roads were just terrible. I went on a side street that hadn’t been cleaned yet, and got STUCK. It was a sad day when a Ford came to save me. A nice Truck Driver stopped as well, and just talked me out of being stuck just by rocking back and forth basically. I headed out to my parents after that to get my sandbags to put in the back of my truck for more weight and made sure every street I went on was cleared. Tuesday came and went, I did Week 2 of Winter Shape Up. So then yesterday, Wednesday, came around and they are still cleaning snow after the storm. We went out for supper last night and had some Wood Fire cooked Pizza, it was extremely busy and we were there for probably 3 hours. I tried a Shrimp one and a Tomato one. The tomato one had basil, goat cheese, smoked tomato. The Shrimp on had, shrimp obviously, mandarin oranges (surprisingly good), pineapple, mozzarella cheese. I didn’t bring my camera with, so there is no pictures sadly.

And then we come to today, Thursday, I’ve been feeling down in the dumps lately. My brother came over for most of the day and we just hung out and played some Wii and visited. That was the extent of my day. Tomorrow I hope to get to the gym and do my WSU workout.

So as I was going to mention about the movie The Invention Of Lying, I did not like it very much. We had heard it was really good so that is why we rented it. It had its funny moments, but all in all I just didn’t care for it at all.  Have you seen it, what did you think?
